Pressure Sand Filter

Distington India supplies robust and efficient Pressure Sand Filters (PSF) for the removal of suspended solids, turbidity, and particulate matter from water. These filters operate under pressure, passing water through a multi-layered bed of graded silica sand and pebbles, ensuring effective filtration and delivering clear, high-quality water.

Widely used in industrial water treatment, municipal water supply, effluent treatment plants (ETP), sewage treatment plants (STP), cooling tower make-up water, and irrigation systems, our PSFs are essential for both pre-treatment and polishing applications.

The unit consists of a corrosion-resistant mild steel, FRP, or stainless steel vessel, fitted with an inlet distributor, underdrain system, and pressure gauges. The sand media traps suspended impurities while allowing clean water to pass through, with periodic backwashing restoring the filter’s efficiency.
