Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is an advanced wastewater treatment process designed to eliminate all liquid waste from a facility. In a ZLD system, wastewater is treated, purified, and either reused within the plant or converted into solid waste (such as salts or sludge), ensuring that no water leaves the site as a liquid effluent.
A Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) is a thermal system used to concentrate liquids — especially wastewater — by evaporating the water content under vacuum or atmospheric conditions.
The key idea behind MEE is to reuse steam energy multiple times across a series of “effects” (evaporation stages), making the process highly energy-efficient compared to single-stage evaporators.
Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) treats industrial wastewater, removing contaminants like chemicals and heavy metals for safe disposal or reuse. Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) focuses on treating domestic sewage by eliminating organic waste and pathogens. Both systems are essential for environmental protection, water conservation, and regulatory compliance.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Ultrafiltration (UF) are both membrane filtration technologies used to purify water. UF removes larger particles, bacteria, and organic molecules, often used as a pre-treatment for RO, which filters out dissolved salts, ions, and smaller contaminants. Combined, they provide a multi-stage filtration solution for high-purity water treatment.
A Water Softening System is designed to remove hard minerals, primarily calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺), from water to prevent scaling and improve water quality. These systems are commonly used in areas with hard water, which can cause issues such as mineral buildup in pipes, appliances, and boilers.
A Water Recovery System (WRS) is designed to recover and treat wastewater, making it suitable for reuse in various applications. These systems are used to reduce water consumption, improve sustainability, and meet Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) or water conservation goals by minimizing the need for fresh water.
An Acid Oil Plant is a specialized facility designed to recover acid oil from soapstock, a by-product generated during the refining of edible oils (like soybean, sunflower, palm, etc.). Soapstock is a mixture of oils, fatty acids, and impurities, and through a chemical treatment process (usually acidulation), acid oil is extracted.
